Tigerblind is an artist that I can genuinely say puts as much work as possible into making music. Even tracks considered demos and oddities are beautiful and full of life. I can only hope that others discover this wonderful artist soon. Favorite track: Caged.

To wax nostalgic about something that took place less than a year ago is the true hallmark of a fool, a goddamned fool. I stand here today as that goddamned fool as I present something compiled out of boredom and, in most cases, recorded out of boredom.
From late 2019 to mid 2021 I found myself with unlimited free time, this yielded such classics as Scotch Poems and We Love You, Tigerblind and of course who could forget 2020's timeless "Tigerblind" self titled LP. Follow the release of We Love You, Tigerblind I was mulling over several options. The first one, inspired by everyone's idol Prince Rogers Nelson, was to ghostwrite songs for a female lead indie rock project a la Vanity 6 but with singer songwriter bullshit. This yielded pretty much the Magic That Talks track and Arcane Romance before spiraling into something entirely different after realizing that finding other people to sing your songs is for respected and talented artists and I shant make my entry into that world. Though, technically what came first was a project with a darker, kind of demented twist to them with hard and intangible type guitar sounds. This was started in December 2020 following the release of We Love You, Tigerblind. This project would later be named "You Were Doing It For Businessmen" which is a line from a Belle and Sebastian song. Having these two unique concepts to work with, I then decided to release a 5 song "dark" EP and a 5 song "light" EP pulling from the Businessmen... and Magic That Talks... project folders respectively.
This of course was another over ambitious viewpoint destined to burn out, and burn out it did. On the strength of the Magic That Talks title track (which itself was a happy accident...) I turned my focus exclusively to the, at the time, Magic That Talks album with the mission statement of summer popping inspired by the wish washy hooks of Alvvays and Oasis. It was at this time I invested in proper recording equipment. A Tascam audio interface and SM57, yes indeed I was living large. The remnents of the "Businessmen" project were released as Pulver Eyes b/w Simple Returns in March of 2021 in the midst of a lot of writing and recording for MTT. Throughout March, April, and May I would continue to slowly chip away at the myriad tracks and various tracklists. In May of 2021 a bolt of lightning totally fried my PC, the one I of course used for recording. If I were a deeper person I might have taken this as a sign from God, though I completely eschewed that interpretation and instead just used it as an excuse to mope around.
To make a long moping short, the full LP was turned into an EP and in that death of a good album went away classics-that-will-never-be such as Analogy, Heartbreaking Treason, and Ordinary Sleep. The EP Magic That Talks was released in June 2021 to critical acclaim, of course. What is presented here are various demos, ideas, and loose recordings most of which were done for fun. I, perhaps out of laziness, have opted to present these free of overdubs or extensive tweaking to the mixes. Maybe all the pieces can indeed be finally seen when contrasting this with the released EP, I think I was going for something cool, or at least my life during this period is intractably wrapped around the heart of the MTT ethos. I invite the listener to come in and feel me up.
